maori language week

This past few days room 11 have been celabrating maori language week and have enjoyed every moment! On monday we had the kapa haka group from Waiuku College come, they were amazing. On Thursday Marino, Whaea Josie's mum, made all the class rooms Maori bread delicious!!!

Every day Atea and Maioro came to every class trying to encourage more people to get involved with the Maori culture by teaching us words to do with Kai (food). We have had things like singing songs, naming food like canned food, fruit and veges.

It has been an awsome week but that's not all...we are now waiting to find out who will win the best Koru design competition and the Waiuku Primary kapa haka group will be participating in the Friday assembly at 12.15. Thank you Whaea Josie for organising such a great week!!
